Mary Winters always loved the colder months of the year. When he was young, her family would gather each year for a feast and songs and the exchanging of gifts. But then the Hamidon came. Though almost everyone of the Winters family was spared the initial devastation, most perished in the aftermath. When Emperor Cole brought the pieces of the world back together it was an event worth of celebration despite the extensive loss.
What was overlooked was the winter spirit, a simple herald of Yuletide, which stayed with the Winters, offering protection instead of returning to the Winter Realm of eternal cold. Thought it remained unnoticed, this spirit formed a bond with Mary, one which granted her great power.
