The heart of Hades, Lord of the Underworld, was captured by the radiant nymph Minthe, and she by his shadowed grace. In a jealous rage, Persephone struck Minthe down, shattering her form into dust. Unable to fully restore her, a grieving Hades gathered the remnants of her spirit and breathed new life into them, transforming her into the sweet-smelling herb that would bear her name.
For centuries, Mint existed in a twilight state. Her essence was plucked, crushed for medicine, and burned as incense in holy rites. Each act was a faint echo of sensation, keeping her tethered to existence but trapped in silent suffering. Finally, after ages of this torment, she cried out to Hades. But it was a remorseful Persephone who answered. Witnessing the unending consequence of her fury, the Queen of the Underworld broke her own curse, allowing Mint to become whole once more.
The restoration was imperfect. The centuries of connection to the Underworld, sustained by the dark love of its god, had irrevocably changed her. She was no longer just a nymph, but something more. Unwilling to return to the Underworld’s drama, Mint sought refuge in the mortal realm. Intrigued by its complex power structures, she now applies her unique understanding of divine politics and eternal suffering as a Human Resources representative for Crey Biotech.
